An undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will be made before the end of the year Frank Warren has stated. In an interview with the youtube channel IFL TV. Warren states it is the biggest fight to happen since Ali v Frazier. However, it is unlikely to take place in the UK. Stating it would need to happen at Wembley Stadium, which is not available until next spring.
Warren revealed that he was in talks with Tyson Fury before, during, and after the heavyweight title fight between Joshua and Usyk. And that Fury was extremely confident he could beat either man. Warren also stated that he had been in discussions with Usyk’s promoter and team. Prior to their fight with Joshua. Warren stated, “They are good men and there will be no issue making this fight”.
In regards to the location of the fight. Warren revealed they will go where the money takes them and ruled out Cardiff as a UK option because it would not generate the revenue both fighters want. Tyson Fury has already revealed that an undisputed fight would be expensive if the UK want their belts back. Stating “Get the checkbook out, this won’t be cheap”.
“The fight is made, both parties want it, there is no problem getting this fight made”, Warren stated. He also revealed his son and Top Rank’s Bob Arum (Who Warren co-promotes with) have already been having discussions with Usyk’s team. In terms of politics for the fight. Warren suggested it was a much easier fight to make than Fury v Joshua. As there are no broadcasting issues or politics involved. “It is simply about where we stage the fight to meet both boxers’ financial demands for the fight” Warren stated.
