Garcia v Fortuna – Preview, UK fight time, odds, undercard, and prediction.

Ryan Garcia will put his unbeaten record on the line against Dominican Javier Fortuna in arguably his toughest test to date. Garcia, now 23 years of age has been touted to reach the elite level of boxing for some time but still has some questions to answer as of yet.

The bout is due to take place at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles and features a fairly stacked undercard that on paper should boast some competitive fights and includes three 12-round fights.

The Undercard

Lamont Roach (22-1-1) v Angel Rodriguez (20-1-0) – 12 rounds – Super featherweight

Ricardo Rafael Sandoval (20-1-0) v David Jimenez – 12 rounds – Flyweight

Oscar Collazo (4-0-0) V Victorio Saludar (21-5-0) – 12 rounds – Minimumweight

How to watch/UK Fight Time

Prediction/Odds

Currently, the American Ryan Garcia is the overwhelming favorite to retain his unbeaten record as he takes on Fortuna who at 33 years of age has amassed a record of 37 wins (26 KO’s) 3 losses, and 1 draw.

Odds

Ryan Garcia: 1/10

Javier Fortuna: 7/1

Draw: 25/1

Fortuna may or may not be Garcia’s best opponent, but he is at the very least his second toughest fight to date (Arguably between Fortuna and Luke Campbell who takes the first spot). However, he is quite small at super lightweight and Garcia is the much bigger guy, therefore I think this is clever match-making at this point in Garcia’s career.

Garcia gets a talented name at the back end of his career, who is pretty small at the weight, however, if Garcia underestimates Fortuna this could still end up backfiring, Fortuna has 26 KOs to his name and has fought world-class opposition, and with over 200 amateur fights Fortuna is a highly experienced operator.

However, Garcia should have enough to overcome this obstacle and move on to bigger fights providing he gives Fortuna the respect he deserves. I fancy Garcia to get a stoppage here, somewhere around the mid-late rounds.

Prediction – Garcia TKO8
